Joan Kelly – Artistic Director, Owner, Instructor, Choreographer:

Joan Kelly founded Dancesteps Etc. in July of 1989. She is a certified Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Dance Masters of America (D.M.A.) instructor Originally employed as an engineer while teaching dance on the side, she decided to follow her dream and open her own dance studio In Epsom, NH. With extensive dance, performance, and instructional experience in the fine arts of ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip/hop, lyrical and musical theatre, Joan continues to educate herself by attending workshops and classes whenever possible at such schools as Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. She is active in local theatre, choreographing and even performing in them whenever possible. Joan has studied under such greats as Savion Glover, Edward Villella, and Steven Boyd. Many of Joan’s student’s achievements have been realized in the form of awards, certificates, various medals, scholarships, and college degrees in dance.

Jamie Tisbert – Co-Director Instructor,Choreographer :

Jamie is starting her 11th year as an instructor at Dancesteps etc, blesses with natural ability and talent, she started her dance career with Miss Joan at the age of 3, and has become a successful choreographer of 12 years, winning numerous awards at the regional and national level. She will also be starting her 10th year as Pembroke academy’s Dance Team advisor Jamie’s students find her energy to be endless and feel her ” no nonsense” approach during class brings out the best in them. Jamie’s love and passion for the students and for dance couldn’t be any stronger. As Jamie say’s ” it’s what I was born to do ”

Kiana Moore – Instructor, Choreographer:

This is Kiana 2nd year with Dancesteps Etc..  Kiana was a competitive dancer for Dancesteps Etc for 4 years.  Kiana is continuing to take classes when ever possible , a choreographer / dancer at Danceworks Boston Project, Boston MA. Kiana enjoys encouraging students to be themselves and dance with their heart.  Her goal is to incorporate expression and creativeness in class, helping students to expand their mind and dance with confidence.

Kateline Stevens-Instructor,Choreographer:

Kateline is now starting her 2nd year at Dancesteps Etc. She has been dancing at Dancesteps Etc. for 6 years.  Kateline  is very involved with the Pembroke Academy’s Dance Team and hope’s one day to be the coach.  Kateline has inspirations of opening up her own Dance studio one day.

Lynn Briggs – Instructor, Choreographer:

Lynn grew up in South Kensington, England, where she attended Royal Academy of Music, graduated with Teaching Degree in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Character and Partnering.   Lynn Owned and operated her own dance school for 25 years. with her mom Miss Nina, together they hosted RAD summer schools and submitted students for RAD exams for 15 years. Lynn danced professionally with Pennsylvania Ballet, Hartford Ballet , Hartford Opera.  She is married lives in Amherst  has 3 sons. Currently Miss Lynn is teaching at several dance studios, . Judges dance competitions and is involved with the Miss NH Scholarship pageant.

Wendy Burns – Instructor, Choreographer:

Wendy has had a passion for gymnastic and tumbling since a very young age.  During middle and high school she trained and competed under the direction of gymnastic coach Doreen Ruey in Connecticut.  She competed at the state, regional and national level on both Optional and Compulsory teams.  Her position was All-Around which allowed her to compete in all four events; floor, bars, beam and vault.  After high school Wendy taught tumbling for several years at Prospect Academy of Dance in Connecticut.  She is looking forward to building a successful tumbling program at Dancesteps Etc.

Kate Walker – Instructor, Choreographer:

Kate has been dancing for 30 years; competitively for 10 years.  She is trained in tap, jazz and musical theatre.  While Kate focuses on teaching the classics of tap, she is quirky and enjoys “choreographing outside the box.”  Kate is a student of dance and frequently attends classes, workshops, conventions and tap festivals.  Since she was a child, Kate dreamt of being a dance teacher.  After years of hard work and dedication, her dream is now a reality.  Known for years by many as the “Studio Aunt”, Kate loves being a part of the Dancesteps family!

Isaac Wilson- Instructor Choreographer:

Isaac was a former dancer at Dancesteps Etc for several years and has now come back to us to teach! Dance is a great passion of his! He has been seen teaching at studios such as Kearsarge Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Warner, NH, and has also been over in Bullhead,AZ as a teacher at Spotlight Dance Academy.  Although he loves all genres of dance he will be teaching our advanced hip hop class while also doing some strengthening and conditioning classes as well as jazz technique classes. Isaac is very excited to be a part of Dancesteps Etc dance  family once again, sharing the love of dance with others!
